What backs up the answers?

Use a licence record to check the person and a government medicine record to check the product.

Keep the medicine’s name beside the source, along with its form: pill or injection.

What does a Florida licence record tell me?

Florida’s health search publishes licence status, details about the health professional and public discipline records.

Discipline is action taken by the body that grants the licence.

A clean record does not measure how good someone’s care is.

Use the record to match a real name to a profession and current licence status.

Does a drug code prove FDA approval?

FDA, short for Food and Drug Administration, is the agency that reviews medicines.

As of September 26, 2026, a National Drug Code, or NDC, identifies a product in FDA’s list of drug products; it does not prove FDA approval.

Ask for the medicine’s exact name and whether it comes as a pill, an injection or something else.

Ask the person treating you to open FDA’s drug approval records and show the entry for that exact product and the approved label naming its uses.

Is board guidance the same as law?

A medical board handles doctor licences and can take action on a licence.

The Federation of State Medical Boards supplies this guidance; it brings state boards together and is not a government regulator.

Its May 2026 guidance says choosing a medicine from a menu, without a medical check of the patient, is not proper care.

It also says that a fixed online questionnaire is insufficient on its own; patients must have a chance to raise follow-up questions of their own.

Ask who will discuss your symptoms, check whether a medicine fits your health needs and answer your questions before prescribing.

As of September 28, 2026, Florida law requires the same quality of care for remote visits as for visits in person.

Does a report of harm prove the drug caused it?

A report says someone had a problem around the time they used a medicine; that alone does not prove the medicine caused it.

FDA says these reports cannot tell us how often a problem occurs.

Bring a report that worries you to your doctor and ask whether it matters for your medicine. A report is a question to discuss, not proof of an injury caused by the drug.

How do I turn a source into a question?

Write down the medicine’s name and why it is being offered, plus its form: pill or injection. Open the matching source with the health professional.

Ask: “What in this record applies to my case, and what is still unknown?”
